This workshop will provide an in-depth introduction to the ACA (*pending 3 hours approval), NASW (6 Hours), and NAADAC (6 hours) Code of Ethics and the dilemmas faced in the implementation of the decision making process. We will also discuss dual relationships, burnout and other ethical issues.
This workshop will cover various aspects of how to make an ethical decision based on the three codes of ethics, in lecture and group activities.

About the presenters:
Peter J. Callahan, LICSW, ADC-S, MAC, CCFC is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed in WV and VA. Peter is a Certified Addictions Counselor and Past President of the WV Certification Board of Addiction & Prevention Professionals (WVCBAPP). Peter also served on the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) the overseeing body of the WVCBAPP. Peter serves on the West Virginia Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors.
Peter currently is the CEO of Callahan Counseling Services. He has developed numerous community based programs and continues to work with local and state agencies to meet the needs of community.
Doug Houck, MA, NCC, LPC, AADC received his Master of Arts in Counseling from West Virginia University and his undergraduate degree from Shepherd University. He has over 25 years of experience working in the fields of mental health and addiction services. His past experiences include working as the clinical director of an adult addictions rehabilitation facility, serving as the administrator of a county-wide mental health clinic, coordinating a hospital-based intensive outpatient program, and practicing as a private practice clinician. The majority of his efforts have been focused on helping dual diagnosed clients. He currently serves as the senior clinician with Callahan Counseling Services in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Prior to entering the mental health and addictions field, Doug worked as a Materials Test Engineer for Mack Trucks for seventeen years.
